Halloween Game: Music & Sounds

For the Halloween game, we had 4 different groups creating 4 different games. Our group consisted of four people, thus our game idea had to be simple and concise so we had time to create it. With larger groups, we had to have something that would make our game stand out.

In our group, I was in charge of sounds and music. As we created the music for the christmas game, with some help from the music students, I thought I could use that soundtrack and edit it so it appears more spooky, and Halloween themed.

To edit these tracks, I used a program called Audacity. It is a free audio file editing software available to everybody. It features a range of tools as shown:

The tools I used to create the spooky versions consisted of:

  • Amplify
  • Change Pitch
  • Change Speed
  • Fade In
  • Invert
  • Echo

Displayed below is a comparison of the audio files. The top two are the new, and improved Halloween soundtrack, the bottom is the old Christmas soundtrack.
