MPC are one of the world’s leading character design studios. Over a decade of research and development has gone into creating their creatures (first class photo-real animals and creatures).
Over the years MPC have been a visual effects company they have created realistic penguins, platypus, mice, cats. They have even concepted/created wierd creatures. These include fire monsters, flying t-shirts and woodland creatures.
Before creating the animal, MPC’s research teams undergo an intensive research stage for each creature they create. Studying the animals in zoos, analysing their skeleton in museums and through thorough research.
Modelling the basic geometry and texture crerates a realistic look for skin and acts as a starting point, in terms of size for the creature.
Building an entire skeleton and internal muscle system allows them to mimic natural motion of the creature. It allows the skin to have natural movement, including accurate skin folds when in motion.
Thier character design work can be seen in their huge range of industry leading commercials. These include:
John Lewis – “Monty’s Christmas”
Mercedes-Benz – “Fable”
First Direct – “Little Frill”
Ikea – “T-Shirts”
